We wanted to take a moment to remind everyone, that as a HOA Community, we do not police the community and we leave that up to the Gwinnett County Quality of Life Department. The Quality of Life section is dedicated to educating and informing citizens of the codes and ordinances established for the county by the Board of Commissioners, which set minimum requirements and standards regarding property and structures to promote and protect the public health, safety, and general welfare of all its citizens. This program was established in 1999 and has been enforced by the county since that time.
The Program is very detailed but it is reasonable and covers everything from mowing your grass, dead trees in your yard, Junk Vehicles, structures in our yards, walk ways and driveways and even the condition of our homes. Now, they do not control things such as the color of your home, if you cut a tree down or anything else along that line, but they are here to ensure that as residents in Gwinnett County, that we keep our properties in good condition and not in a state of disrepair. None of us wants to live in a community where the home next to us is falling apart and nothing is done to fix the home up. All of our property values depend upon us keeping our homes in good condition and what is being asked is – as they state in their purpose statement- the minimum requirements and standards regarding property and structures.
Occasionally, you will see the Quality of Life department come through our subdivision. They have officers that have territories assigned to them and they periodically check communities. Please do not assume that the HOA has called the Quality of Life Department if you see them in this community. ANYONE can contact the Quality of Life department – from your neighbor next door to you or across the street from you – if they feel there is a issue. And as mentioned, they do periodically come through and check the community – especially if they are already here rechecking a home that is on their list for inspection.
